hypertension, sleep disorders, emphysema, chronic bronchitis, idiopathic pulmonary
fibrosis, bronchiectasis and sarcoidosis. We welcome referrals for patients who may
suffer from any these conditions. Below is more detailed information on some of our specialty clinics and programs.

Lung Nodule Clinic

St. Paul Lung Clinic is pleased to offer the services of its Lung Nodule Clinic.
Primary care physicians can refer their patients to the clinic to receive efficient
and coordinated evaluation, surveillance and treatment of lung nodules.
Patients will receive pulmonary consultations within 48 hours.

The goals of the Lung Nodule Clinic are to:

  • Provide a structured diagnostic work-up and appropriate follow-up
  • Reduce patient anxiety
  • Minimize unnecessary surgery
  • Avoid loss of follow-up care
  • Offer expedited scheduling

Care Coordination:

A Clinic Nurse Specialist navigates patient care from initial contact onward. Following evaluation, patients receive recommendations for additional diagnostics or follow-up based upon the Fleishner Guidelines. Patients requiring extended surveillance are enrolled in our health maintenance program to help ensure they receive appropriate follow-up.

The multidisciplinary lung cancer team includes pulmonologists, radiologists, medical oncologists, thoracic surgeons, radiation oncologist and advance practice nurses.

Our program features:

Asthma Program

St. Paul Lung Clinic’s asthma program provides education for patients and a personalized asthma action plan. A copy of the patient’s asthma action plan is sent to the primary doctor along with a letter summarizing asthma management and risk of exacerbation. This allows the primary clinic to stay involved and informed about the patient’s asthma care.

Occupational Respiratory Medicine Clinic

The Occupational Respiratory Medicine Clinic specializes in evaluation of patients who have been potentially exposed to chemicals or other factors in the workplace.  This can be a complicated situation and it demands a properly trained expert, and our clinic is staffed with such individuals who are skilled at identifying and treating both respiratory and work-related diseases such as occupational asthma.
